The parent of a child requiring assistance in performing activities of daily living: dressing, eating, bathing, mobility in the home and control of bodily functions, to a noticeably greater extent than children his age, may be entitled to a disabled child allowance from age 3 to 18 years and three months, provided that he meets the basic requirements.
A request for dependence assessment might already be submitted as of 2 years and 10 months of age.
Determination of dependence on the help of others requires, in most cases, the child's examination by the Medical Board.
What is examined by the Medical Board?
The doctor examines child's functioning compared to children his age. A certain amount of points is assigned to each action, and benefit rate is determine according to the total number of points scored.
If the child is not able to reach the Medical Board due to his disability, it shall be mentioned on the claim form. According to the child's condition, the possibility of the child's examination at home will be assessed.
Documents to be submitted
In most cases, after receipt of the documents, parents and child are summoned for examination by the Medical Board.
